Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground venison
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 potatoes, cubed
  • 2 cups broth (beef or vegetable)
    • If you're following a low-sodium plan for hypertension (high blood pressure), look for "Low-sodium" or "salt-free" version
  • 1 tbsp oil

Stovetop Instructions:

  1. Cook the meat: Brown ground venison in oil in a large pot.

  2. Add to slow cooker: Transfer venison to the slow cooker. Add onion, carrots, potatoes, broth, and seasonings.
  3. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until vegetables are tender.
  4. Taste and serve: Adjust seasoning if needed and serve warm.
