baked cinnamon apples & bananas

Ready in 20 minutes | Serves 4

This naturally sweet dish is full of fiber and flavor.

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium apples, sliced (leave the peel on for fiber)
  • 2 medium ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 tbsp raisins or chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil or margarine (optional, for baking dish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Lightly grease a small baking dish with oil or margarine (optional).
  3. In a bowl, mix apples, bananas, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla.
  4. Pour into the baking dish and cover with foil.
  5. Bake for 15–20 minutes, until apples are soft and fragrant.
  6. Top with raisins or walnuts if using. Serve warm.

Serving suggestions:
Serve alone or with a spoonful of yogurt or unsweetened applesauce for extra creaminess.
