Psychiatric Add-On Payment for Advanced Practice Nurses

Add-on payments for Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) are only applied when the APN is registered with a psychiatric sub-specialty in the Illinois Medicaid Program Advanced Cloud Technology (IMPACT) system.

  • APN claims submitted with a mental, behavioral, or neurodevelopmental diagnosis (ICD-10-CM codes F01-F99) will receive the appropriate rate based on the IMPACT enrollment file, which must indicate the APN is certified in a psychiatric sub-specialty to receive add-on payments.
  • If an APN is certified on the IMAPCT file with a psychiatric sub-specialty, but is not receiving the appropriate add-on payment, contact the Provider Engagement team and include a copy of the IMPACT enrollment with your outreach.
