BEGINNING 4/1, PROGENYHEALTH WILL NO LONGER OVERSEE UTILIZATION MANAGEMENT AND CARE MANAGEMENT

Meridian Medicaid Plan is ending its partnership with ProgenyHealth. Beginning April 1, 2022, ProgenyHealth will no longer oversee Utilization Management and Care Management for Illinois Medicaid enrollees born premature or with complex medical issues.

Starting April 1, 2022, we ask all medical facilities and providers to directly notify Meridian of enrollees placed in the NICU or special care nursery. This change will allow Meridian to provide more effective medical care, offer a streamlined process for our network providers, and promote healthy outcomes for Illinois Medicaid enrollees born premature or with complex medical issues.

This new process will offer enrollees and providers the support of a dedicated NICU / Pediatric Case Management team that:

• Understands the stress of managing infants in the NICU

• Believes in collaborating and sharing best practices

• Reviews each case to ensure enrollees can come home safely in the shortest amount of time

• Works with you to achieve the best possible health outcomes
