Home Health Providers, Verify Plan Type for Wellcare Meridian Dual Align (HMO D-SNP) Members When Using the Secure Provider Portal

Wellcare By Meridian has identified an issue within our secure provider portal that may impact how transactions are submitted, particularly for Home Health providers, for some Wellcare By Meridian members.
Currently, certain Wellcare By Meridian members may appear under the Wellcare Meridian health plan type and the Medicaid plan type in the portal. This display issue can result in transactions being submitted under the incorrect plan type, which may delay processing or display incomplete information.
What You Need to Know
- Some Wellcare By Meridian members are visible under the Wellcare Meridian Health plan type and the Medicaid plan type in the secure provider portal
- Consequently, some actions, such as claims submissions or claim reconsiderations, may be submitted under the Medicaid plan type instead of the Wellcare Meridian Health plan type
- Submitting transactions under the incorrect plan type may result in delays in claims processing or inaccurate information display
- A permanent solution is currently in progress. Once resolved, dual member information will only appear under the correct plan type in the portal
What Providers Should Do to Help Ensure Timely Processing and Accurate Information
- Complete all activities for Wellcare By Meridian members under the Wellcare Meridian Health plan type
- When logged into the secure provider portal, confirm the plan type at the top-left of the page. The portal should display the Wellcare By Meridian logo and the Wellcare Meridian Health plan type.
