Availity Essentials Transition Update: Claims Corrections, Remittance Viewer, PCP Notifications, and More

To make it easier to work with us, Meridian and our family of plans is continuing the transition to Availity Essentials™ as our new, secure provider portal. If you are already working in Availity Essentials, you can log in to your existing account to enjoy these benefits. If you are using Availity for the first time, review this guide to register and get started.
Beginning the week of April 21, Availity will have new functions, including:
- Claim corrections: Correct and resubmit a paid or denied claim from the Claim Status Response page.
- Remittance Viewer: Easily locate remittances using extensive search and filter options.
- Review and reconcile detailed remittance data
- Gain visibility into claims associated with a check/EFT by downloading a Check Summary
- InterQual capabilities within your authorization workflow review process: When completing an Authorization Request in Essentials, select the Take Me to InterQual button.
- PCP Notifications: Receive alerts about a patient's admission, discharge, and hospital transfer status for follow-up care.
Summary of provider resources now available in Availity Essentials
Since November, in-network providers can access Availity to complete a variety of administrative functions. Learn more in our September 4, 2024, provider notice and review the following summary.
Our current secure provider portals are still available, but future sunsetting is planned as Meridian completes migration to Availity Essentials. Continue to use the existing portal for the functions listed below.

Availity is directly communicating training opportunities, including live webinars and recordings to Meridian providers. When logged into Availity Essentials, providers can also navigate to Payer Training within the Help & Training menu.
